Dr. med. dent. Valerie G. A. Suter is a senior lecturer, board-certified oral surgeon and head of the section of Dental Radiology and Stomatology in the Department of Oral Surgery and Stomatology at the University of Bern. She is an ITI speaker and was a visiting clinical research fellow in the Department of Oral Medicine at King’s College Hospital, London, United Kingdom for one year.

The mean age of candidates for implant surgery as well as dental patients is generally increasing due to the growing life expectancy worldwide. While being older per se is no contraindication for implant therapy, it often implies medical conditions and more medication (polypharmacy).
