Teresa Chanting Sun
Dr. Teresa Chanting Sun, DDS, MS, is a board-certified periodontist at Mackay Memorial Hospital and Assistant Professor at the National Defense Medical Center in Taipei, Taiwan. She earned her specialty certificate and M.S. in Periodontology from Tufts University and was an ITI Scholar at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. A Diplomate of both the American and Taiwanese Boards of Periodontology, she is also an ITI Fellow and founding member of Young ITI Global. Dr. Sun is an internationally recognized speaker and recipient of the EuroPerio9 PerioContest (2018), Osteology Case Award (2020), and Young ITI Speaker Award (2021).

Every 5 years, the International Team of Implantology (ITI) organizes a Consensus Conference to review the current state of evidence in areas of interest in implant dentistry. The 7th ITI Consensus Conference was held in Lisbon in May 2023. The topic of Group 2 was “Technology”, focusing on following three research questions: (1) additive versus subtractive manufacturing of implant restorations; (2) survival, complications, and esthetics comparing prefabricated versus customized abutments; and (3) survival of posterior implant-supported multi-unit fixed dental prostheses.
