Stephen T. Chen
Assoc. Prof. Stephen Chen, MDSc, PhD, FRACDS is a specialist periodontist in private practice in Melbourne, Australia and is Clinical Associate Professor at the Melbourne Dental School at the University of Melbourne. Dr. Chen is Past President of the International Team for Implantology (ITI) and has served as Chair of the ITI Education Committee. In Australia, he served as chairman of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Periodontists (ANZAP), Australasian Osseointegration Society (AOS) and Australian Society of Periodontology (ASP). Dr. Chen’s clinical and scientific interests are in the field of periodontal tissue regeneration, bone grafting and post extraction dental implant outcomes.

The aim of this position paper is to define EBID and offer a clear, consistent, and practical instrument to help its implementation in everyday clinical practice.
