Riccardo D. Kraus

Dr. med. dent. Riccardo D. Kraus is a Senior Teaching and Research Assistant at the Clinic of Reconstructive Dentistry, University of Zurich, Switzerland. He graduated in 2008 from the University of Zurich, Switzerland and received the "doctor medicinae dentium” (Dr. med. dent.) from the same university in 2011. He worked for a 3-year period as a full-time practitioner in a private practice in Aarau, Switzerland. Thereafter, he completed 3-year post-graduate training in Oral Surgery at the Department of Oral Surgery and Stomatology, University of Berne, Switzerland, under the supervision of Prof. D. Buser. From 2015 to 2018 he completed a second postgraduate training program in Reconstructive Dentistry at the Clinic of Reconstructive Dentistry, University of Zurich, under the supervision of Prof. Ch. Hämmerle. Since 2018 he has served as a Teaching and Research Assistant at the Clinic of Reconstructive Dentistry at the University of Zurich. His clinical focus is on the comprehensive treatment of complex, fully and partially dentate as well as edentulous patients, applying all the available options of reconstructive dentistry, including dental implants. He is a Specialist in Oral Surgery (Swiss Society for Oral Surgery and Stomatology), as well as in Reconstructive Dentistry (Swiss Society for Reconstructive Dentistry). He has a Master of Advanced Studies in Oral and Implant Surgery (University of Berne), as well as a Master of Advanced Studies in Oral Implantology (University of Zurich). His main scientific interests include implant dentistry, in particular sinus floor elevation and full-arch implant-supported reconstructions. Since 2020, he has combined research and teaching at the university with a private clinical practice, working with his father, Dr. Dan Kraus, in his dental practice in Lugano.
