Karim El Kholy
Karim El Kholy, Dr. med. dent., MS, DMSc, FRCDc is a lecturer in the Oral Surgery Department at the University of Bern School of Dental Medicine in Switzerland and the Division of Periodontology, Department of Oral Medicine, Infection and Immunity at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, Boston, Massachussetts. He is also an Adjunct Professor at The Faculty of Dentistry, McGill University, and an advisor to The University of Cambridge, Judge School of Business, Entrepreneurship Center and a previous president of the Harvard Graduate Business Club. Dr. El Kholy earned his Doctor of Medical Science Degree and Certificate in Oral Implantology from Harvard University. He is currently a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.

Over the past decade, the use of digital technology in implant treatment planning and static computer-assisted implant surgery (sCAIS) has revolutionized the planning and execution of guided implant surgeries. However, the predictability of achieving a high degree of accuracy when using a digital workflow and sCAIS has been a subject of debate. For sCAIS procedures to transition from clinical success in individual cases to a broadly applicable procedure, a better understanding and control of variables that affect their accuracy is essential.
