Irena Sailer
Prof. Dr. med. dent. Irena Sailer received her dental education and Dr. med. dent. degree from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tübingen, Germany in 1997/1998. In 2003, Dr. Sailer received an Assistant Professorship at the Clinic of Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics and Dental Material Sciences in Zurich. Since September 2013 she has been the Head of the Division of Fixed Prosthodontics and Biomaterials at the University of Geneva. Since 2009 she has been an Adjunct Associate Professor at University of Pennsylvania, USA, and since 2019 an Honorary Professor at the University of Aarhus, Denmark. Irena Sailer is a Specialist for Prosthodontics (Swiss Society for Reconstructive Dentistry), and holds a specialization degree in Dental Implantology (WBA) from the Swiss Society for Dentistry. She is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Swiss Society of Reconstructive Dentistry and the Chair of the ITI Section Switzerland. Irena Sailer is also a Member of the Board of Directors of the EAO, an Active Member of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and an Active Fellow of the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics. Since 2019 Irena Sailer has been the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Prosthodontics and a member of ICP.

This case presentation displays the workflow and the production steps of two different monolithic implant reconstructions using a chair-side and lab-side system, respectively, for the digital impression and CAD/CAM procedures. The aim of this case report was to compare the two different workflows and their potential benefits and limitations and as well the material properties of two different reconstruction types.
