Georgios Kanavakis
Georgios Kanavakis, DDS, MS, Dr. med. dent., PhD, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and a Member of the Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals (h-index: Scopus: 12) on factors affecting the perception of facial appearance, 3D imaging, the use of skeletal anchorage in orthodontic clinical practice and other topics of orthodontic interest.

In recent years the number of adults seeking orthodontic treatment has increased, and, as the population of developed countries is aging due to advances in medicine and technology, it is expected to continue to increase in the coming years. In order to meet the esthetic requirements of an older patient population, orthodontists need to familiarize themselves with facial appearance at an older age and adjust their treatment strategies accordingly.
