Alexander Ochsner
Dr. Alexander Ochsner is a seasoned executive with more than 20 years international experience in the field of implant dentistry. After many years in executive roles at Straumann Group, Nobel Biocare and Zimmer Dental, he joined the ITI as CEO in 2019. In his present role, he is responsible for the overall management of the ITI Association. He gained his PhD at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich, where he also attained an MSc in natural sciences.

Evidence-based implant dentistry (EBID) is part of the ITI’s DNA and its philosophy, and it is clearly reflected in our Purpose, Mission, and Value statements. It is one of our key differentiators and reassures dentists and ultimately patients that we strive for excellence in everything we do.
The aim of this position paper is to define EBID and offer a clear, consistent, and practical instrument to help its implementation in everyday clinical practice.
