Teresa Chanting Sun
Dr. Teresa Chanting Sun, DDS, MS, is a specialist in periodontology and implantology at Mackay Memorial Hospital in Taipei, Taiwan. She is also a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Periodontology at National Defense School of Dentistry, Taipei, Taiwan. Dr. Sun obtained her Advanced Education Certificate and Master of Science degree in Periodontology from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, USA. She is a former ITI Scholar (Harvard School of Dental Medicine, Boston, USA), an ITI Fellow, a founding member of the Young ITI Global, and the Communications Officer of the ITI Section Taiwan. Dr. Sun is a Diplomate of both the American and Taiwanese Boards of Periodontology. She participates as an invited speaker in international and national conferences and was the winner of Europerio9 Periocontest in 2018, the Osteology Case Award in 2020 and the young ITI speaker award in 2021.

Every 5 years, the International Team of Implantology (ITI) organizes a Consensus Conference to review the current state of evidence in areas of interest in implant dentistry. The 7th ITI Consensus Conference was held in Lisbon in May 2023. The topic of Group 2 was “Technology”, focusing on following three research questions: (1) additive versus subtractive manufacturing of implant restorations; (2) survival, complications, and esthetics comparing prefabricated versus customized abutments; and (3) survival of posterior implant-supported multi-unit fixed dental prostheses.
